Recently did a system update which grabbed the latest nvidia drivers, and is now causing the grey splash screen with 3 dots at bootup. After lots of searching, seems Plymouth is the issue?
Previously was on Nvidia 550.90, the latest update bumps to 550.100.
Have checked my boot loader options and noticed that “nomodeset” was listed. Have since removed it and these are now the options I have.
preempt=full quiet security=apparmor nvidia_drm.fbdev=0 iwlwifi.enable_ini=0 splash=silent
The options seem to be respected, if I remove splash=silent the splash is gone and I get a full verbose readout of everything… prefer to have the splash back. Any other place that might be causing issues?
