try mplayer-plugin or vlc-plugin…
Great, Thanks
Heeter
Do I need the whole vlc or just the plugin is enough?
Thanks

Go here
and search for Gecko Media Plugin.
It is the replacement for mplayer plugin and is the most compatible with most websites.
Will install mplayer along with it and I think also Gnome Mplayer interface which it uses.
Works very well and will give you a user interface that the vlc plugin will not.

I did what you suggest. It worked really beautifully once or twice, I was impressed.
Hower, after that Firefox began to segfault every time I’d try to open an Apple trailer.
So I installed the Kaffeine plugin. Now Kaffeine starts instead and works fine.
To be added that I had gone back to Firefox 2.0.014 because with Firefox 3 I had too many problems.
Kaffeine plugin works well but wont give you an embedded viewer. But if you are happy with an external player then stick with what works for you.
Strange the issues you have with Firefox 3 - I find it gives me less trouble than ver 2.xx
This Firefox add-on:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/446
Improves things a lot. However in Debian (testing) it seems to solve every problem. In OpenSUSE there are some left.
