I installed 11.1 (live cd) last night. Got fed up with Ubuntu.
I have spent over 10 hours trying to connect through a router. Tried swerdna’s tutorial. No connection either wired or wireless.
tried both yast and network manager. tried disabling the firewall. If I can get wired I can install the tools for wireless. In a terminal ifconfig and iwconfig return “command not found” - strange.
Try /sbin/ifconfig. more importantly use the following:
ip addr sh
ip route sh
cat /etc/resolv.conf
The firewall doesn’t matter… it only blocks incoming traffic by
default which doesn’t apply to you.
Good luck.
