Please, any suggestion.

Can I take a guess first who your users are — if this is a linux terminal server setup for kids in a classroom?
Stuff like this effects the i/o because of the simultaneous logons and logoffs through out the day. Consider this if you are to be using commodity hardware and equipment. I.e. every class 15 - 20 logons at a time.
In this case, I would use at least a 900 Mhz raid card in a 4 disk raid 5 setup. That’s to get the read performance for the apps and logons right? I would look at the Adaptec 2405. Its a SAS and regular serial ATA device — you can use either types of hard drives.
Also tell me about the WINE server for windows apps? Tell me what you are doing with that specifically.
64 bit, for Dom0. There’s no good reason I can think of to use 32 bit on current hardware.

Why ?
Check to make sure all your users apps are 64 bit capable. And your server hardware is compatible.
If you answer yes to the above question, then choose to have a 64 bit OS.
You’ll be able to allocate more memory above and beyond what 32 bit can, no surprize there.
If everything checks out ok for 64 bit the easy answer is this — do you want the stress of not having the capability to allocate more
ram to the server if need be in the future with 32 bit?
