Please include Urban Terror in repository

Hello friends

Is possible to move Urban Terror into Games repo? It was in Packman, but they have removed it. It is very popular cross-platform FPS game. Any chances, that Novell will put it in repos (including linux-optimized binary)?

Hi
If it’s a binary blob, probably not. You wouwld need to use
openfate. openSUSE:openfate - openSUSE Wiki

AFAIK, things will slowly get added back in you need to be
patient during the restructuring and I would imagine that once things
settle down ask again on the packman mailing list or IRC.

Urban Terror has been added but you still need to download the pk3 files to make it work, due to license.

but UT didn’t get removed from Packman:

Show Package urbanterror (Project Games) - Packman Build Service

it’s there and builds successfully.

This has been discussed in the packman mailing lists a few month ago.

[packman] urbanterror in OBS games repositry](http://lists.links2linux.de/pipermail/packman/2012-June/011160.html)

I got the sourcecode (GPL) from the engine and built it. it works with online servers (status from Juny 12).
In the mailinglist I described why I commited the package to packman. If the are no objections I could copy it to openSUSE games and remove it from Packman.

But the game files are proprietary and must be extracted from the zip file you get from the project page.
Someone could help to improve the install message in the rpm post install section that users can see the message easier.
For now I only print an echo on the terminal output.

AFAIK. Urban Terror has been in the games repo for ages. Install the packages, and it will pull in a the necessary files to play it.
