Please Help To Fix Error

In Terminal, I get an error.

Here is the error:

kbuild_nopedantic=1 make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r` /build M=`pwd`
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.34-12-desktop/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [all] Error 2

???
some info would help ???
a guess
this is some kernel module or a kernel ?

as is there is no real information, in the post, for us to help you

the current kernel is “2.6.34.7-0.7-default”

as the error states

/lib/modules/2.6.34-12-desktop/build

this dose not exist

Yes, here is the real information:

The error is:

kbuild_nopedantic=1 make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r` /build M=`pwd`
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.34-12-desktop/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [all] Error 2

where do i get that so that it can exist?

OR-- should I replace that code with the name of my kernel?

Do you have kernel-source? It can be found in the repos - and anyway, what are you trying to do?

I do not know. I will take a look.

I also have the same error"
linux-1b65:/home/aritra/Desktop/hybrid-portsrc_x86_64-v5_100_82_38 # make clean
KBUILD_NOPEDANTIC=1 make -C /lib/modules/uname -r/build M=pwd clean
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.34.7-0.7-default/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [clean] Error 2

I have this error when I try to build a file from Broadcom(as per their instruction list) as I try to make my wireless work
can you please help me?

The fact that the OP was suspended, may put off helpers from bothering here. My advice is to start a new thread with your error details, but in the “Wireless” help forum, navigate there from the Home page.

Make sure you explain some background as to why you need to do this. You never know, but someone may advise an easier alternative solution. :slight_smile:
