I have been running opensuse 13.1 32bit and i did upgrade to 13.2 64bit, thinking that will be the solution. But the browser, firefox 33 clashes alot still. Below is the crash report. Please help me on this because its so annoying
there are a few bugs with hardware acceleration and Intel gfx adapters, try disabling hardware acceleration, preferences->Advanced->general-> uncheck hardware acceleration.
ps is there an official 64bit build of Firefox for 64 SUSE, I’m still using 32bit FF with 32 SUSE.
what graphic card do you have, are you using an intel on-board, what driver are you using, is acceleration disabled?
try with a clean profile an old addon might be the problem;
are you using sync, disable it as it may install an incompatible setting/addon you can always re-enable it.
thanks for your replies to my problem with firefox. I did upgrade to firefox 34, i disabled hardware acceleration and my graphics card is Intel® GM45 Express Chipset. Maybe this is of help…i use a thinkpad T400. btw i never had this problem when i was using opensuse 12 KDE but when i got to version 13 KDE, thats when all my problems of firefox started.
I have a Thinkpad with the same intel graphics as you.
I too had been seeing a lot of crashes since updating to 13.2.
Checked my ram using memtest86+ - it was fine.
I tried disabling hardware accelaration and that seemed fine for a bit but on further use started to crash again.
I re-enabled hardware and decided to take a close look at the crash reports. It seems in every crash the addon “openSUSE Firefox Extension” was mentioned.
I have had this disabled for a few days now and haven’t had a single crash.
Can’t say for sure if this is the reason but it is something I am keeping a close eye on.
