Recently I’ve been having this issue where if I try to take a screenshot with Spectacle (or even dismiss it with Escape), my entire plasmashell goes “grey”/unresponsive. What’s weird is that I can still launch apps with shortcuts, the mouse moves just fine, and I can open System Monitor and Konsole to try and kill the Spectacle process (which I guess is hanging?).
However, whatever I try there’s no way to kill it, it seems (kill -9 tried as well).
I ultimately try to systemctl restart --user plasma-plasmashell.service and this command hangs.
systemctl soft-reboot also hangs
sudo poweroff now and sudo reboot also hang, they never return
Ctrl Alt Del doesn’t do anything
Ctrl Alt F is also completely ignored, so no way to get a TTY.
Hard reboot (physical button press) is my only option.
Logs are here , if someone knowledgeable spots something I would love to report this as a bug in a more structured way, because I take screenshots frequently and right now I live in fear that whenever I trigger this bug, I basically through away all my unsaved work.
Logs mentiond stuff like CPU lock-up and other things printed in red which don’t look good. Thanks!

Does it happen in both X11 and Wayland?
In Wayland for sure since that’s my daily session. Have made a few attempts to reproduce in an X11 session and couldn’t (but then again, in that same time frame I did the same number of attempts in my Wayland session, and couldn’t reproduce either, so…)
Do you have a feeling from the logs that this might be Wayland-related?

Can you try disabling bluetooth and try Spectacle again?
