BTW, you can also use the scanner driverlessly via AirScan/eSCL. Installing sane-airscan is usually sufficient for this.
ā¦Interesting about ācups-filtersā. Here is my installation:
~> sudo zypper search --installed-only | grep "cups-filters"
[sudo] password for root:
i | cups-filters2 | OpenPrinting CUPS filters 2.x for CUPS 2.x | package
i+ | cups-filters2-driverless | OpenPrinting automated driverless printer setup for CUPS 2.x | package
And according to the response after I initially entered the command ādriverlessā, it was included in ācups-filtersā but not in ācups-filters2ā. Hence the additional package ācups-filters2-driverlessā.
Installing cups-filters2-driverless will remove cups-filters. The former is for driverless printing only, while the latter provides driverless and legacy PPD/filter support. So stick with what youāve got for a modern IPP-only environment. ![]()
My bad. I was confusing cups-filters with cups-filters2 and cups-filters2-driverless packages. They have split the legacy and driverless parts with the cups-filters2* packages. So you do need both in that case.
