ok this is the strangest thing a few weeks ago i plugged in a Alfa networks usb wifi adapter into my toshiba satellite A-105 laptop using opensuse 11.4 and the systems plug and play worked fine. I was able to surf the web and everything worked fine. I installed open suse 12.1 could not get the sound to work at all nor could i get the wifi adapter to work ( plug and play failed for the wifi adapter but worked for my thumb drive and my linksys wifi adapter). After failing to find any help to fix these problems i down graded back to opensuse 11.4 and again plug and play failed for my wireless adapter. I unplugged the device and plugged in my old linksys usb adapter and it worked just fine. Needless to say i want to use the Alfa adapter. Really, im myth at this problem. 12.1 will not give me any sound and no wifi with the adapter i want to use. I know the Adapter works because i set it up on my win 7 box just to test it out. Yast2 reads the device in my usb port but i have no idea how to kick it on. please help me out !
I really love opensuse so please help me i do not want to even try another distro.
