Playstation 2->usb converter not working!

Hi there!

First of all I want to tell you all that I’m pretty(very) new to linux and openSUSE so I’ll need proper explanations.

A few days ago I bought a playstation 2 controller -> usb converter so I could play a few games with it. I’ve tried to install it through yast-> hardware-> joystick but it just want me to properly install my soundcard first, and it won’t work. So I used a program called Xpadder(for windows, used it in wine). With Xpadder I can configure every button/stick on my ps2controller.

My problem is that I can’t associate the buttons/sticks with the keyboardbuttons, just the mousebuttons and movement.

Is there anyone who know can help me install my controller correctly or maybe tell me another software to use? I’d love to use my ps2controller instead of my keyboard while playing some old snesgames.

Suppose it got a little bit messy, if there’s something you don’t understand, just ask =)
