Playing BBC Live Radio

I am finding I am exceeding my daytime download budget from time to time. This results in additional charge from ISP so I would like to manage use more carefully. Could somebody please tell me the approximate download usage per hour of live radio?
Will this change depending on program material?
I know I should be able to work this out or measure it but not having much success.

It will vary depending on the radio station, encoding scheme, length of
the program, etc.

There’s no way to tell you how much it will cost (in terms of money or
bandwidth) per programme.

If you can connect to live radio, there is no charge for it. If streaming live radio is taking you over your download limit, the only solutions are to change your package or seek an alternative provider.

Jim, thanks for this. OK I understand the bandwidth will change but there must be a way of finding out how much approximately.
I shall continue to ask.

You could add knemo and if you are only streaming radio, you’ll be able to see the rate
Or in system monitor under system load, it should show the rate too.

But radio is nothing compared to TV and I watch that all the time.
There is no excuse for crappy limits set by ISP’s. I agree with John H. Jump ship and don’t buy in to any more rubbish.
Avoid at all cost the mainstream junk that turns up in a google search and hits you in the face with empty promises and fantastic deals.
