Does anybody know if there’s a codec package of some kind that I need to
install so that I can preview sound clips on Amazon.com? I’ve tried in
Mozilla, Konqueror, and Opera, and I hear nothing
Konqueror offers to open the samples with Amarok, but it says “plugin
text/uri-list decoder is missing” but I’ll be darned if I can find a
package that might satisfy this missing dependency.
OK, this morning I can now play sound samples on Amazon.com. One of the
many packages I installed last night must now be working after the PC
had a rest overnight.
For future reference, one of the packages I remember installing was
gstreamer-ugly, and some python gst package. I don’t know how to see a
list of software I’ve installed over time.
Thanks for that. Here’s what I installed to resolve my Amazon.com sound
previewing problem (maybe it was only one that fixed it, can’t be
sure):
