players gone bananas

Hi, Everybody!

I have installed openSUSE 11.2 (32bit)
recently and I have many problems
with media players. (It is a traditional
problem of all linux distributions)

I have a high resolution screen, and
when I try to resize xmms to double
size, xmms crashes.

Mplayer, when launched, enters a loop
of minimize-unminimize, so I have
a rapidly appearing-disappearing
window (file is not played).

Banshee cannot play mp3 files -
it gives an error (something
about audio streams).

Only kaffeine and amarok work
properly (so far).

May be someone had the same problems
on his computer and knows how to
solve them?

Igor

I would suggest you might start with the permanent How-To and FAQ postings, they contain links to this issue and other typical issues. Very good material.

Possibly some other links as well. I recall seeing at least two guide that helped get my Flash working. The first one didn’t (for me), the 2nd one did the trick.

Follow this Carefully!
