If you did not use this to upgrade/update, run


zypper dup

first and get back with results.

in fact after updating with zypper dup, I got the error. today also updated, but still with the error.

I already did the test by deleting .cache, plasmashellrc .etc and following the error

I have not verified that, previously this problem was solved (it is not the first time I have this error in different computers, about 4 times), deleting “~ / .loca / share / mime”, other times deleting "~ / .cache “, some more erasing” ~ / .config / plasma. * "all plasma files …

but this time I have the same problem in 3 computers with different hardware the 3 with openSUSE TW

On another computer that has Leap 15, it had the same problem, this one in this case, if it was fixed after deleting .cache

one of the machines with TW, had to do an upgrade to Leap (better said outdated), once the problem was solved.

the second computer with TW, tried to do the same but the result was negative, that computer had to reinstall the system and put MATE Desktop.

The rare thing is that I am on 4 different computers with different hardware, I have the same problem, and it seems that the other users do not, and it is a serious problem.

Has anyone found a solution to this?

I’ve just installed TW on a desktop machine and Plasmashell is chewing up a whole cpu core. If I kill and restart Plasmashell, it seems to behave for a short while - then off it goes again.

I don’t know what’s triggering it but it’s a problem. My system fan is firing up constantly to keep the processor cool.

I’m running TW on 3 other machines without a problem.

This is the only one with Nvidia graphics. I’m using the Nouveau drivers. I was going to look at installing the Nvidia drivers if I can find some instructions.

I just ran a monster update (2000+ updates) taking this sytem to TW 20190201 and, for the moment, the problem seems to have gone away.

Plasma is working nicely.

I’m not seeing such problems, but that’s probably because I’m using Intel graphics. Back when I last had a system with Nvidia graphics, I ran into problems,

Never had these problems and with Nvidia graphics and proprietary drivers installed, the CPU with Plasmashell is below 1%
