Plasma, OpenGL 2, and graphical drivers

When I selected Linux 4.4.62-18.6-default, and Linux 4.4.36-8-default, the below error message appeared. However, when I selected Linux 4.4.62-18.6-default (recovery mode), no error message was shown! How do I fix this annoyed problem?

Plasma is unable to start as it could not correctly use OpenGL 2.
Please check that your graphic drivers are set up correctly.

This is Optimus laptop (ASUS with NVIDIA Geforce GTX 960M)
Recently I removed bumblebee package and run the default graphical setup.
Thanks.

Apparently OpenGL support is broken.
Please post /var/log/Xorg.0.log and the output of “glxinfo” (install Mesa-demo-x first) when booted to the standard kernel for further clues.

As Plasma doesn’t start, login to IceWM e.g.
(or for the Xorg log, you could also boot to recovery mode afterwards and then post /var/log/Xorg.log.0.old, which is the log from the previous boot)

Did you ever install the nvidia driver?
There may be some remnants left that break Mesa’s OpenGL support.
Though then it shouldn’t work in “recovery mode” either.

Thanks for your reply. This problem was solved. Basically I got rid of nomoest and nouveau.modest=0 in grub menu. Now it is back to normal.
