Plasma glitches since latest updates on Slowroll

Hey!

Since the last big updates I have some glitches.

First when I’m away from the computer and the monitor reduces brightness after 5 minutes than locks after 10 when I log in the brightness won’t go back to where it was. It says it is on 50% but no matter how I set it it won’t change. I log out then log back in and says it is on 15% now I set it on 50% again and it is good.

The second one is if Kodi is open and the computer locks on its own and I unlock the Kodi windows closes/opens up in an infinite loop.

After I reboot I’ve gotten the following:

I’ve tried troubleshooting with AI but didn’t get too far with it. It said that might be a weather widget that is causing the issue. If I remember right I’ve installed that in the KDE Discover under plasma addons and plasma widgets but according to that nothing is installed wich is weird.

Can anyone please help me with this?

Also a lot of times the tray disappears after the computer locks and logging back in, starts to get pretty annoying

I also have a weather widget wich I don’t know how to uninstall. If I go to add or remove elements it is not even there…

Right-click on the triangle in the systemtray, click Configure systemtray, Go Items, disable Weather, done. Trust HI

There were some updates yesterday, but it still glitches.

First of it doesn’t turn off the monitor after 10 minutes as it is supposed to it goes to the login screen and if Kodi was running and I log in the Kodi window opens/closes in an infinite loop and I can’t do anything about it.

Someone please help me how to fix this?

As always: Create a new user. Logout, login as that new user and see if the issues exist for that new user. If so, it’s a system problem, if not it’s something in your homedir causing it.

Also a weird thing, out of curiosity I’ve tried an openmandriva rock and the monitor doesn’t go into power saving mode their either. It works on Windows 10 though.
I’ve changed my graphics card about 2 weeks ago from a GTX 1070 to RX 6600 XT because I had rendering issues in UE5 games, it solved it.

Have you tried launching a Plasma Wayland session? See if it presents the same issue on your system?

Second: See if the issue exists on Wayland. X11 is on it’s way out for Plasma.

Interesting, it seems to be working fine on Wayland. It’s weird because before yesterdays updates I had the same issues there too. But now the monitor goes into power saving mode and Kodi responds fine after loging back in.

How do I set up that the OS starts on wayland? Or if I log in once to wayland it will start on that always?

That is the case. The login manager remembers your last choice.

It didn’t stay on wayland. Could the autmatic login be causing it?

You can set that. Gimme a moment.
Systemsettings - SDDM - Behaviour. You’ll see your user checked for autologin. Next to that you can pick the session Plasma Wayland.
