Plasma fail, only black screen with mouse pointer

Hi friends,
I went complicated journey to install new Leap15 into dual boot on my HP-Probook G5 (Leap15 and Win). All works well until today. After update and restart only mouse pointer displayed. I went through forum, I have found many advice, but nothing helped me. Could I ask you for some help, please?
After login: balck screen, mouse pointer, Alt+F2 works, all applications work, but Plasma desktop is away.

I did zypper up,
than zypper dup,
>nothing to do
I tried to make new user, the same result (black sreen)

I am newcomer in OpenSuse.
I dont really know what should I do :’(

I removed some repositories,
zypper up > didnt help me.

zypper up all by itself will not remove packages installed from repos that are no longer present and enabled. You need zypper dup or yast if you wish to remove orphaned packages. You can also try using zypper ve to verify all dependencies are met.

Thanks, I did it. Didnt help me. Something wrong with Plasma. I decided to reinstall root partition.

You have enabled the qt5 and kf5 Repo.
Do you made a zypper dup to this Repos?
That is recommended with this Repos also as with Packman Repo.

And it is difficult to switch back from kf5 and qt5 Repo to the OSS Repo.
That cost me about 3 or 4 hours.

I experienced similar »blackouts« and found that, in my case, the random-number generator in the kernel was entropy-starved. Try pressing a few keys for a minute to generate some of that randomness manually.

It seems silly, but pressing keys helped my boot sequence over the black screen repeatedly. In order to determine whether entropy starvation was the problem, look into your boot messages:

journalctl -b | grep -i '\(rng\|ra?nd\|haveg\)'

Remedies for entropy starvation are problematic, especially for virtual server systems that sometimes need to generate large amounts of random numbers for cryptography or testing purposes, and much has been written about it. There are hardware hacks (feeding the digitized jitter and noise of a borderline-conducting transistor junction via USB into haveged, for example).

Other possibilities for your blank screen, if slightly unlikely, are:

  • your user is not in the »video« group (remedy: »usermod -aG video your-username
    «)
  • your desktop manager is not in the video group (remedy: »usermod -aG video SDDM
    «, or KDM, or GDM, whatever you’re using; I recommend bare-bones KDM for speed)

Thanks you all, I am really silli, I broke my system totally. I reinstalled root partition, mounted my old /home, Everything works. Now I set up carefully everything needed and packman repository. Hope to dont ask you again.
