plasma-desktop segfaults on startup after kde 4.4.1 upgrade

hi.
after upgrading to kde4.4.1 and restarting (and even rebooting) i experience plasma-desktop segmentation faults. thankfully i am able to start firefox and konsole with Alt-F2.

upgrade path was simple: i just did `zypper up’ and saw that package versions were bumped up to 4.4.1.

I’ve the same issue after upgrading opensuse yesterday.
KDE version 4.4.4 R3

I’ve try with a new account (so without any kde pref) and I get an error on startup with plasma :
