Plasma won’t start, get segementation error. How do I fix this?
Have tried
Logout
Hit Ctrl-Alt-F1
login with username and password and do:
Code:
rm ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma*
Hit Ctrl-D to logout
Hit Ctrl-Alt-F7 to return to login screen
Login and you have the standard desktop, with all program settings kept, just plasma to dress up again
But still getting no plasma desktop. Alt-F2 works btw.
Hi,
Which version of openSUSE are you using, and which version of KDE are you using?
If you’re unsure about the version of KDE just open a terminal and provide the output of:
kwin --version
Also, could you please provide the output of
zypper lr -d
Take Care,
Ian
Sorry, had to crack on! Was a recent install so just installed again. Was very annoying, various other solutions to reset the KDE desktop did not work.
I was (am) running:
Qt: 4.5.3
KDE: 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) “release 6”
KWin: 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) “release 6”
If this is 11.2
Doing zypper up should update kde
