You can reinstall it:) I wonder how did you install it in the frist place;)?? About the kde 4.2

Just add two repositories:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/42/openSUSE_11.1

Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.1_KDE_42

After that set every repository to have the same priority. For example 99 for every repo.

Mind that there were some naming changes so kde4-amarok will be called amarok kde4-gwenview will be gwenviev etc. So if you stumple upon a conflict look at the name and check if there is one without the kde4 prefix. After upgrading to be safe delete .kde4/ folder  Logout and relogin.

Thanks

Now my Arbeitsfläche is back

But i have now one problem…

I have a DVD/CD device on my laptop…
Its a MAT****A UJ 832D device…

My Laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN S5HP

My device doesen’t read CD’s or DVD’s =(

Can anybody help me???

You managed to install openSUSE with this drive though?

Whilst in the kde4 desktop, put the suse install dvd in your drive - does the notifier pop-up? and try accessing it in dolphin.

When I had Vista on my Laptop the divice does Work…

But now on opnSuse it doesen’t
And my Laptopn don’t boot form the divece =(

How did you install openSUSE in the first place then? Is the drive detected in your BIOS? Is the boot order correct?
