I just wanted to thank the maintainers for the way the urgent need to upgrade was made clear in the gui: there was a red dot in the ‘updates available’ system tray icon signalling the urgency (it used the ‘warning’ colour from the Plasma colour scheme), which prompted me to install it immediately even without knowing about the newly-found xz backdoor!
