Plasma 5 Special Effects stopped working

I recently updated my OpenSUSE 15.4 installation with “sudo zypper up” and most all of my Plasma 5 special effects stopped working. Wobbly Windows is gone along with other visual effects such as the Slide effect for switching desktops, etc.

Now, when I go to desktop effect settings, many items no longer appear unless I check “Exclude unsupported effects” and “Exclude internal effects”. This implies that Plasma no longer sees that my hardware supports special effects although it does. Also, when I go to the KDE Info Center app and select “Graphics” the Info Center app displays the following dialog within the KDE Info Center app window:
The executable eglinfo could not be found in $PATH.

So, it appears that KDE is unable to access my graphics info with eglinfo which is probably why it has disabled the Plasma 5 special effects.

Does anybody have any idea how I can fix this?

Thanks,

Gordon

For anyone that is interested, today, five days after this problem appeared, I ran “sudo zypper up” and there was over 100 package updates that I installed and that solved this problem. Now, special effects work perfectly. I don’t know what was broken but the update that I ran 5 days ago caused the problem and the update that I ran today fixed it.
