Pitivi 0.99 issues

Anyone have recent experience using Pitivi 0.99 with Tumbleweed? I had a brief period this year (Jan - Mar 2018) where the application worked fully and was able to generate MP4 movies without any problems, but since about April this year during the rendering (movie file generation process) it stops at about 95% completion and then fails to finish writing the file. I know, this is Tumbleweed which means that everything is in constant motion, but I was hoping someone may know if it’s the application or the underlying gnome subsystem that’s having problems? Anyone know how to put it into a Debug mode to trace where the program is hanging up?

I’ve also tried installing their 1.0 beta from the flatpack installation, but the current gnome release that I’m running (3.28.2) isn’t seen as valid for the flatpack install:

Installing: org.pitivi.Pitivi/x86_64/stable
Required runtime for org.pitivi.Pitivi/x86_64/stable (org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/3.24) is not installed, searching…
The required runtime org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/3.24 was not found in a configured remote.
error: The Application org.pitivi.Pitivi/x86_64/stable requires the runtime org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/3.24 which is not installed

Anyone else have suggestions about how to resolve any of these issues?

Thanks!
Bill

Since it’s Tumbleweed: How do you update? Mind, only ‘zypper dup’ is supported. If you used other ( non supported ) methods, than run ‘zypper dup’ first and see if the issue persists.

Yeah, Zypper Dup is my normal update process, good thought though. I’m guessing there’s some feature library used by Pitivi that is not quite working right, or has changed how it’s being called by the application and causing the movie creation failure.

Hi
Don’t do much video editing, so are these big files? What format are
you converting from? Perhaps some steps on what you do so we can try
and duplicate?
