PinkyTagger Issues

You may remember me as having some trouble with CeltX. I gave up on that and just started running through Wine. I figured that would be the last of my application troubles…

Enter PinkyTagger. Nothing works in it. No media player, no tagging, no fingerprinting, nothing. Before I continue, I feel I need to point out that I have no further information.

I am literally new to Linux. I have no knowledge of how anything works, and can’t seem to find ANY help documentation for any of the problems I’ve been having. At least, nothing I can even begin to comprehend.

I do want to learn this stuff. I want to program for a living. But coming into this blind is extremely frustrating. So any “You don’t know anything, so I’ll speak to you like a child” documentation you can offer up is much appreciated.

Back to the matter at hand. I can only assume that I’m missing half of this program. Again, questions akin to “is your computer plugged in?” are completely warranted in this case.

OK I guess this is an app you want to run so first off where did you get from and how was it installed?

Hi
Hopefully from packman?

see one of my former posts on the subject of documentation…here,
look at this one answering another who was seeking basic, beginner
manuals and books:

if you wanna “program for a living” you have to love reading, and the
list i offer will keep you busy for a day or two…or months and months…

You’re my new best friend, haha. As for the former question, I did get it from packman. I assumed it would alert me regarding dependencies when I installed it, but nothing came up.

Sidenote: Sorry if my post seemed… abrasively malcontented. It’s been a long week.
