Hi Folks,
I am totally new to linux and have installed ubuntu, mint and now “opensuse K” and find Opensuse to be amazing product but I keep getting the lock pid 2358 (usr/sbin/packagekitd)…
I have no idea what this means; except that it stops me from updating my software.
any help would be great!..

In your systray, do you see a little green icon - says Updater or similar on it? Right click on it and Quit.

sorry to be a tool; but i have no idea where to look for systray!:shame:
I am total virgin to linux.
I have looked everywhere with a “system” id and not found any green icon.

If you’re using KDE, look on the bottom right corner of the screen - small icons there. That’ the systray - same as on Windows.
