OpenSUSE 11.2, 64bit, Gnome.
Every application I have tried to print photos in doesn’t work very well.

Print Assistant plugin (available in Gwenview) is missing passport photo size. Can’t figure out how to update it with a new template.

The “Print Image” dialog in several applications not only over-rides the driver, it over-rides the resolution and dimensions of the photo itself. You have to tell it to “resize” a 2"x2" image to 2"x2", otherwise it’s the wrong size, but then it mysteriously prints the wrong resolution!!!
As a stop-gap measure, I am using OpenOffice Writer, which is a surprisingly good layout program. Unfortunately no snapping to a grid to make sure they are all properly aligned, and no crop marks. Kinda hard to resize precisely as well.
I opened Software Manager to see if I could find anything else, but not much matched “photo”. I tried a few other packages recommended on the Internet, and all of them failed to install, with cryptic error messages.
Much obliged for insights and advice.
Am I overlooking something?
