Permanent noise from speaker (just today)

Hi everyone,

Leap 15.2 has been working flawlessly the past few weeks ever since I’ve installed it on my notebook. I’ve not had this issue with 15.1 neither.

But today (possibly after some updates?) the speaker emits a constant and loud noise. If I plug in headphones, the sound gets transmitted to these, too. All I can do for now is mute audio altogether as it is quite bothersome. The noise appears first when booting openSuse, so after loading the driver it seems.

Any way to troubleshoot the issue?

Thanks.

@SF6:

It may be a corrupt Pulse database file –

  • Remove everything in ‘~/.config/pulse/’ – logout – login again.

And ask the one that is responsible for the updates, if there were updates. That would at least answer your question about: possibly after some updates?

Hi, I just unmuted the speaker and for some strange reason it works again.

I’ll keep monitoring this behavior.

Thanks all.
