Hi,
I’ve been running Tumbleweed for a year now, updates with zypper dup went smoothely all the time. Today is the first time I run into an iussue. I tried to search for it, but did not find anything, maybe it is just brandnew…
This is the error message that I am getting:
das installierte perl-DBD-CSV-0.640.0-1.1.noarch erfordert 'perl(DBD::File) >= 0.420', aber diese Anforderung kann nicht bereitgestellt werden
Gelöschte Anbieter: perl-DBI-1.651.0-1.3.x86_64
I wonder if it is wise to just wait a few more days for the next update, because this sounds like an issue that many people might be getting. I did not mess around much with my system, it is more or less a default setup.
Thanks for any help or advice.
As I said: I did not tweak anything - to the best of my knowledge. I once had Pacman in the loop for the sake of multimedia, but when I ran into an issue with VLC that looked scary, I took it out again. Other than that: no interventions from me, just plain default environment.
Silly question: how do I go about this? When I ask Yast to update per-DBI I run into the same situation as with my zypper dup. Seems like a vicious circle. How can I break that up?
Thanks for your help, I needed some catching up with Yast etc. I had been in the Debian/Ubuntu/Mint camp for a very long time. After I had fixed the version the zypper dup worked like a charm. Case closed as far as I am concerned.
Great advice, thanks for that. I took a look. Myrlyn seems to be all to do with packages, including zypper dup, so I won’t need the terminal for that anymore.
There is a lot more in Yast. When I chase for Cockpit all I find is a client that I could install. How is that a replacement for all Yast does besides software management? A client talks to a server. Where is that server? Do I have to set that up, too? Why do I want SSH when all I need to manage is my localhost? Seems I am still missing a lot in this world of Tumbleweed…
