I am looking for some good pdf converter for my opensuse 10.3. It would be great is there is any that acts like a printer like pdf converters from windows.
Any suggestions?

What are you trying to convert, and from what application? For KDE applications like KMail or Kontact, you can choose “Print to File (PDF)” from the drop-down in the dialog box where you choose the printer and options. That includes Konqueror for web pages. Firefox also has a “Print to File” option if you use that. OpenOffice has an “Export to PDF” function.
As you might be able to tell, I run KDE. If you run GNOME, most of this is moot for you.

what would you like to convert to?
*the poppler-tools package has a lot of nice little command line tools. (For us CLI crazies.)
*there are many konqueror plugins that let you convert an entire pdf to a series of images. like this one: konq-pdf KDE-Apps.org

thanks for the quick reply! I actually was trying to print my .doc files as pdf but i didn’t know that openoffice has its own exporter, i think i did not search enough.
