PC Random freezing after some Error from nouveau

Hey Forum,

I hope I post this right, this is my second post so please be nice.

Sometimes my Opensuse Leap 42.1 just randomly freezes everything, leaving me just able to move my mouse. The only errors I can find in journalctl are the following, until I hard reset my PC;

Anyone any clue why I have this problem?

Are you fully updated?

Have you tried the proprietary NVIDIA driver?

https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_drivers

To be honest no. I didn’t even realised I had a nvidia graphic card external in my PC.

I will try that and report back.

Thank you very much,

Felix Kalb

Wait… Is this a notebook??

If so may be a Optimus set up and you need bumblebee

nouveau is the open source NVIDIA driver

No I have an PC, just not built myself.

Then try the NVIDIA driver
