The latest update for libpulse and libgtkmm
broke pavucontrol and pulseaudio at least
on my two 64 bit machines.
Reverting back this two new packages
made the pavucontrol and pulseaudio to work.
I wonder if this is associated with the new gnome version.
I installed Tumbleweed on an openSUSE-12.2 stock baseline on the weekend (32-bit with LXDE desktop). LXDE tends to use some of the gnome infrastructure. I installed pulse and pavucontrol on this LXDE system (as pulse is not nominally installed on the openSUSE LXDE). pavucontrol starts.
BUT … I note I currently have libpulse version 1.1-6.4.1 (where in the mean time version 2.1-2.1 has appeared but I have not installed) and I have libgtkm-3_0-1 version 3.4.0-2.1.2 (where in the mean time version 3.6.0-2.1 has appeared but I have not installed).
Hi,
It was from yesterdays update, I tried to post a more detailed one from zypper dup result
but every time I post it goes to a white screen so I gave up and tried to post last night.
The libpulse version is
libpulse 2.1-2.1-x86_64
During the installation it looks like it upgraded another 5 packages because as soon as I reverted back
it automatically reverted another 5-packages.
The libgtkmm version is
libgtkmm3_0-1 version 6.0-2.1-x86_64
This is the error I got
pavucontrol: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libgtkmm-2.4.so.1: undefined symbol
By just reverting back the libgtkmm there is an error in the terminal I couldn’t recall
and pulseaudio will not start, I have to downgrade both libpulse and libgtkmm.
The installed DE on my machines:
One has a full KDE4.x, Xfce and LXDE
The other one has Xfce and minimal KDE4.x installed and this was upgraded to tumbleweed from openSUSE 12.1
pavucontrol: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libgtkmm-2.4.so.1: undefined symbo
Please disregard this has version typo errorl
Sorry to double post, I have to rectify the typo but too late now for editing
I re installed libgtkmm update and this is the complete error from the terminal
pavucontrol: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libgtkmm-3.0.so.1: undefined symbol: gtk_level_bar_get_type
