two weeks ago i wanted to install some patches but this did not work

patch:openSUSE-2015-218-1.noarch conflicts with putty-debuginfo.i586 < 0.64-2.4.1 provided by putty-debuginfo-0.62-1.8.i586

what can i do now?

all is blocked - i have no glue how to proceed-.

can i do something with the terminal - should i run some things in terminal - in order to get the things running again…

love to hear from you

Go into yast and straighten out the versions for those packages. I figure you have somewhere got some packages from one repo and some from another. In any case do you really need that debug package??

hello

thanks for the quick reply - well i do not need the putty things -
q. Does putty cause the issues?

i would love to go ahead -

should i do it with yast or with console?

And/or make sure that the Update-Debug repo is enabled.
Updates for debuginfo packages are released in there, if you don’t have it such a conflict could occur because the debuginfo package cannot be updated.

hello dear wolfi and googlathorp

can i continue in terminal - i would be happy to get out more things - using the terminal
are there any ways to do so?

look forward to hear from you

I guess you mean zypper and sure you can use zypper to install and update things.

for more info youcan type man zypper to get the manual

To uninstall putty-debuginfo run:

rpm -e putty-debuginfo

or

zypper rm putty-debuginfo

To enable the Update-Debug repo, run “zypper lr” to find out which number it has and then run:

zypper mr -e X

where X is the number of the repo.

Or just use YaST…

hello dear wolfi

many thanks for the hints. Now i was able to run the updates

many thanks

best
