Partition Rad 1 and Raid 5 disk

I have a poweredge 2600. This machine has raid 1 (2 disk of 36 Mb) and Raid 5 (3 disks of 146 Mb).

I am completely new to Linux and openSUSE. Can someone help me to setup the ideal partion for these disks.

A detailed explanation would be appreciated highly.

Thanks

I believe the machine you have is a server with hardware RAID. As far as the OS is concerned, it sees the RAID arrays as a single disk each so you don’t have to do anything special to prepare them. It is sufficient to load the driver for the hardware RAID controller, and I believe that model has been around for a while and is well-supported in Linux.

I would assign the RAID1 to / and the RAID5 to /home. This can be done in the installer.

BTW, I think you meant 36GB and 146GB.
