Hello guys,
I have a problem with some applications on my laptop with open suse 11.1. When I take ifconfig I get these interfaces back:
eth0 (this is ok), pan0 (Whats this?) wlan0 and wmaster0(I don´t know what this is, but I read that this is a failure configuration Unterschied wlan0 und wmaster0 › Forum › ubuntuusers.de) I have a Atheros AR5007EG and i compiled with the madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3942-20090205. I think this is the problem isn´t it?
The iwconfig command give me no result, but when I start yast/network configuration first, (pop-up with "Your network is controlled by network manager, please use this to manage your network configuration), after clicking ok,close the window, the iwconfig shows me the tree interfaces I wrote the lines before.
Can someone help me?
best regards
Bill

Wmaster0 is a master interface created by mac80211. It has definite value, but
for the usual station creation, just ignore it. I didn’t read your references
about it being a “failure configuration”, but it most definitely is not a
problem. The interface wlan0 is your wireless device. The device pan0 comes from
bluetooth networking.
thansk Iwfinger for the information;
I have checked my interfaces and all things are ok;
But what is with the:

That one I do not understand. I always get the same iwconfig ooutput whether I
run YaST, or not.
