packages appear to be missing

Hi Folks,

new installation of 11.2
when I try to follow the instructions in this thread

http://forums.opensuse.org/new-user-how-faq-read-only/407184-multi-media-restricted-format-installation-guide.html

I get messages saying packages are missing from packman
I have the repo enabled
it seems to complain a lot about libxine1, but some others too
any ideas?

here’s one of the error messages

Retrieving package libxine1-1.1.16.3-1.pm.25.1.x86_64 (1/19), 2.3 MiB (5.8 MiB unpacked)
Retrieving: libxine1-1.1.16.3-1.pm.25.1.x86_64.rpm [error]
File './x86_64/libxine1-1.1.16.3-1.pm.25.1.x86_64.rpm' not found on medium 'http://packman.jacobs-university.de/suse/11.2/

ideas?
Dave

Hi
Because the package that exists on that server is;
libxine1-1.1.16.3-3.pm.19.1.x86_64.rpm

So it’s telling you the correct error… sounds like you need to
refresh your repository, or the mirrors are out of sync.

I guess the repos were out of sync

That happens every time that changes are made to files on the repos. It does take some time to sync all the repos. It can be annoying, but there really is no way around it. Luckily, it doesn’t take too long.

You can usually do a refresh on the repo and it will grab a new list of what is there. If you happen to be doing it at the same time one of the packagers is uploading a new version of the file you are looking for, this may not help, and you just have to wait it out for a few minutes.
