Package Manager - BUG

Hello,

Fresh install of openSUSE 11.2 64bit, first complete system update with yast, after first reboot “package manager” fails to load when accessing in terminal runing as “su”
It only works when using yast in GUI, text mode in terminal fails?

You have another thread discussing this same issue.

If you think it’s a bug, report it.

Or try telling us the error that is displayed in the terminal when you try starting the software manager

or try this

booting to level 3, run yast there and re-installing all yast packages

In terminal I see no error, “package manager” just fails to load repositories in text mode, also runing in level 3 and re-installing all yast packages didn’t work, is there anything else to try?

fails to load repositories
Ah a clue perhaps, Explain this, what does it say?

It doesn’t say anything, perhaps you can tell in what logs I need to have a look at? YAST in GUI works normal.

are you logging into KDE3?/KDE4?Gnome?/what? as yourself and then
launching a terminal (which: an xterm? konsole? gnome-terminal?
Terminal? or full screen terminal via Ctrl+Alt+Fx?, or are you calling
Alt+F2’s “run command” a terminal?) then switching to root using su
(or “su -”?, or “su -root”?) and then issuing what command: yast or yast2?

Hello,

I have found and fix the problem, “yast2-ncurses” was causing a problem, when updated to the last available package, so I removed it and did a workaround.
