package 'libboost_thread1_49_0' not found

Hi there,

I need ‘libboost_thread1_49_0’ to compile some of the code I have. I checked the package list and it is on the list Package list - openSUSE
However, when I do sudo zypper install libboost_thread1_49_0 I got

Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
'libboost_thread1_49_0' not found in package names. Trying capabilities.
No provider of 'libboost_thread1_49_0' found.
Resolving package dependencies...

Nothing to do.

I am fairly new to openSUSE and don’t know what to do. Can some one help with this?

Thanks,

P.S. is glibc same as libc6 in openSUSE?

Hi
Have you refreshed the repositories, it’s there in the OSS repository;

zypper if libboost_thread1_49_0
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...

Information for package libboost_thread1_49_0:

Repository: openSUSE-12.3-Oss
Name: libboost_thread1_49_0

Yes, glibc contains the libc shared libs.

I have done zypper refresh, but it still says that package is not found.

zypper if libboost_thread1_49_0Loading repository data...

Because not all people are as nasty as I am, nobody asked you redress your omission in mentioning your version of openSUSE. And now you got en 12.3 answer and you show to have 12.1 repos.

Hi
Ahhh 12.1, it was never built for the distribution release, you need to get it from;
Index of /repositories/devel:/libraries:/c_c++/openSUSE_12.1

When looking for packages, use this :wink:
software.opensuse.org: Search

Thank you for the help.
and sorry for didn’t put my openSUSE version when I ask the question, I didn’t know it very be this different for version 12.1.
