OSS sound driver missing in WIne

Well, the title is kind of self-explanatory, but anyway: today I discovered that OSS driver is missing in the Wineconfig and upon clicking on the “Sound” tab it informs me that driver is not available and suggests deleting “oss” from the registry.

I use Tumbleweed, KDE 4.6.5, PulseAudio with GStreamer backend (I tried switching to Xine in hopes it would help - nope, no such luck), WIne 1.3.25

Any ideas what went wrong and how to fix it?

*Wine 1.3.25 Released

What’s new in this release:

**Rewrite of the audio support, using the Win7 architecture.**
**Old-style sound drivers for Jack, NAS and ESD are removed.**

…*

In other words Wine is using ONLY Alsa; so along side with Pulseaudio i suggest that you install Alsa if is not installed already with the Pulseaudio plugin and then use winetricks ( winetricks - The Official Wine Wiki ) to make wine use Alsa.

Thanks! Turned out the right thing to do was to answer “yes” when Winconfig suggested to delete “oss” from the registry =^_^=

Sound is back (so far), so I can fully enjoy my Diablo II again.

OSS disappeared from my Wine long before 1.3.25.
I think it is related to the fact I’m running Tumbleweed.

Hei!

What about the alsa-oss package, is that one installed?
