OS 12.2 Terminal Emulator

Hi. I’m using OpenSuse 12.2 KDE and the terminal emulator in Konqueror won’t follow navigation like Dolphin and Krusader do. Konsole (under settings) will open in the cujrrent directory however, but it won’t change if I navigate the thru the directories. I really want to use Konqueror as my default file manager but this gets in the way for me. I’ve looked over all setings several times, searched this forum, and googled for answers but I can’t find any way to fix it yet. The Handbook says as long as the link icon is at the lower right it will follow navigation. The link icon is not there and I can’t find any way to change it Anyone else having this problem? Any help you can give is appreciated.

I don’t understand the problem description, sorry. You say:

Are you expecting konsole to change directory when you change directory
in Konqueror? That will never happen.

Konqueror stopped being a file manager for sometime now.
In this thread they even uses dolphin as backend when managing files
Gentoo Forums :: View topic - [konqueror] can’t use konqueror as filemanager

He expects the same behaviour as the terminal in Dolphin (F4). Clicking through directories changes also the current location in the terminal as shown here:
Dolphin terminal.png - KDE UserBase Wiki

Konqueror has also such a terminal but does not change the directory within the terminal when browsing through konqueror. You can open the external konsole with <F4> and it is in the current directory of konqueror. But you have to close and reopen the terminal via <F4> if you want to be always in the current directory of konqueror.

But that’s different, it is a terminal integrated inside dolphin, not
one outside such as konsole. Midnight commander also does that.

To be expected.
