I can start Amarok and have it play local music files just fine. But after a while, it just stops playing even though I have it in repeat mode and it’s been repeating for some time.
When it stops, it displays pause and stop buttons as though it were still playing, but there’s no sound, no movement of the progress bar. I attempt to stop and start the playback using the on screen controls in various ways, but nothing works.
After I make sure that I’ve exited the main window and quit it’s icon in the system tray, I discover it had failed to truly exit. The GUI is no longer mapped to the screen, but the binary and a couple amarok “slave sockets” are still visible in ps command output. I have to forcibly kill them off before restarting Amarok. When I restart Amarok, after a while, the same thing happens again.
Any ideas for potential solutions would be greatly appreciated.
