oS 11.2 hangs at boot several times in my Aspire One

Hi everybody.

I don’t know why, but when i first boot openSUSE at the morning in my Aspire it hangs over and over again. I don’t know why is this, but the gecko appear, the white bar appear, and moves 1cm, and then, puff no more blinking from the hard drive. Then i force te reboot, over and over until works.

The message is: acerhdf: no Aspire One hardware found

When i first installed the mini with openSUSE it works perfect for a week, and then start this problem.

I have tried with different kernel flavors (like desktop) and still nothing… :frowning:

A little help here ?

Thanks in advance.

Is that all you get if you do verbose view at boot?

I have a somewhat similar problem, when booting into 11.2, the white barline stops at the middle (plus/minus) and not moving. But if I hit enter, then the computer continue to load and I actually get in, and everything seem to work fine

the question is, can it get worse?

Press Esc key to see the messages while booting.

Hi all! And thank you for your responses.

Yes, thats the only message that I get when the computer hangs, nothing more.

If I hit enter, or esc, or F2 after the hangs, nothing works, even CTRL+ALT+DEL that should invoke the reboot for the kernel, it just hangs.

If i don’t do the verbose boot, and the laptop hangs whit the silent splash, don’t even work F2 to switch to verbose …

But yet again, if I hard reboot two or three times or even four, it blinks and continue the load normally without doing anything …

Thats why i don’t understand what or why its the problem :frowning:

Thanks in advance for all your help.

I did, but it runs too fast for me to see anything special.
The only thing I saw was a message about…network interface skip/missing… in red letters

I don’t know how accurate I actually read that…

Have a look at the output of dmesg to see if everything was OK while booting:

dmesg

ok, I did dmesg, and saved it to a file.

which part of it I should post for someone looking into it, its very long.

It looks to me as though it doesn’t read the HD. Did you try to reinstall openSUSE?

I still have this problem.

Can someone to help me out what I need to look for in the dmesg report I got? I copied the whole thing, its 20 pages, and I don’t even know what should I look for?
