First problem is the same as described (and the fix works)

After installing openSUSE 11.0, you will find your Eee PC 901 does not display a significant portion (28%) of the bottom of the screen. The reason this happens is because by default the screen resolution is set to 1024 x 768, and the screen’s native resolution is 1024 x 600, so you will not be able to see or use the bottom 168 pixels.
Second problem: The backlighting seems to slowly “undulate” or occasionally quickly “flicker” in brightness, as if the software were “hunting” to conserve power.
Otherwise, smooth install (after applying ALL updates).
