Hi,
I’m running openSuSE 12.2 with Grub2 as bootloader. It boots Linux and Windows 8. I noticed that it already added an entry for opensuse and windows to the Grub bootloader screen, both with the corresponding suse and windows icon, loaded from /boot/grub2/thmes/openSUSE/icons.
I changed some parameters and the background image from the original theme to my taste and look which is now just fine. The problem is that I need to add an additional entry to the bootlist (booting from an ISO file), which I know how to do, but the problem is that I want to give it a specific icon like the two other entries in the list but I don’t know how or where to tell Grub to use that specific icon for my personal entry.
Grub2 is also more complex than Grub1, I also really understand the extra loaderfiles in /etc/grub.d so I modify the main Grub config file manually with a text editor. Works just fine as long as I don’t run the grub tool to update the main file.
Found lots of links to Grub2 info pages on this forum but none of them answered my question, so it’s not necessary to point me to that direction.
How do I tell grub to use my custom icon for my custom entry?
Thanks.
