Opera browser not updated

Hello everyone,

I’ve been using the Opera browser for quite some time now, but I’ve noticed that it’s been without any updates for a few months.
At now this is what is present into the repository:

zypper if opera

Aggiornamento del servizio 'openSUSE'.

" November 27th, 2025
Hello!
New update to Opera stable is now live – version: 124.0.5705.65."

Many thanks for the attention and waiting for an update

Nobody uses Opera Browser ?

There seems to be no longer any devel repo/project for Opera on OBS.

But you can download and install the rpm directly from the Opera website. (scroll down at that page and choose the rpm for linux)

After you have downloaded the rpm, simply install it via
sudo zypper in opera-stable_125.0.5729.21_amd64.rpm

There is a newer version in openSUSE git, but only for Leap 16 (still outdated with v122).

Thanks Hui for the reply, I knew about this possibility, but I would prefer to use the updates coming from OpenSUSE; I will still test the installation, if necessary I will go back with snap rollback :hugs:

But isn‘t this only the factory project? All other packages are developed in seperate devel projects before being pushed to factory via SR (former workflow). This can be seen in a factory project at the link „developed at“.

It is not technically mandatory and there are several other packages (both oss and non-oss) without devel project as well.

In any case, I fail to see how the existence of the devel project will magically keep the software version up to date.
