Opera 10 vs. Firefox 3.5.5

It is curious - while running openSUSE 11.2, I can log into the forums with Firefox, but this login is blocked using Opera! Under Win 7, it is not an issue, I can log into the Suse forums with either browser. What’s the story with Opera on 11.2?

I can confirm this

openSuse 11.32 x64bit, KDE4.3.3, Opera weekly

Don’t have such problems (Opera 10.10).

  1. exit Opera
  2. remove/rename your ~/.opera directory. (You will lose your preferences though.)
  3. restart Opera

I noticed you were using KDE. So I tried under KDE too. No problem either! What does “Opera weekly” mean ?

I used the opera function to “delete private data” instead of deleting.opera and now I can log into the forums. Thanks for the tip; I think Opera may be a better browser than Firefox and I really like the email client.

Opera provides weekly (more or less) beta/alpha
releases for those daring to test (and wise enough
to backup regularly)

deleting private data worked also for me

if you use/need a news reader Opera’s mail client
