I’m using 11.2 RC1 x86-64 on my Compaq laptop with AMD Turion 64x2 2.0GHz processor. Installed Opera 10 from openSUSE Non-OSS software source,i found it lag all the time, and consume 100% of one of my processor core. Anyone facing this issue? Any idea how to fix it?

it was not an issue until last Opera update but I
do see this and it’s most annoying when I have to
kill it and yet though the window disappears the
process stays and still eats all of one cpu
openSuse 11.1 x64bit, KDE4.x Factory, Opera weekly
Yup I closed it,yet it still running,I can’t even kill it in System Monitor >:(
Does this issue related to Adobe flash?
I’m also using Opera 10 on openSUSE 11.1 x86_64. Opera is unresponsive only when it tries to run java applet. I use Flash 10 64bit Alpha and it doesn’t have any problem with that…
I’ve been having issues with Opera as well, usually doesnt finish loading a page, and starts eating lots of cpu time. I’m assuming that this is due to it not being built with the latest QT libraries. I’ve had similar issues when QT was updated in 3.x era. Hopefully this will be resolved by RC2… if not we may have whine and throw temper tantrums here until it is, and that wont be a pretty site… 8)

rpm)
openSuse 11.1 x64bit, KDE4.x Factory, Opera

are you using the qt3 or qt4 version?
openSuse 11.1 x64bit, KDE4.x Factory, Opera weekly
I’m using QT3 version installed from Non-OSS repository. Is there a QT4 version? Where to get it?
I’ve tried the Opera 10.10-4632.gcc4.qt4.x86-64,still burn my processor like hell, and can’t close the opened tab…>:(
Same problem here!! Eats my CPU (s)
Please try disabling ipv6. Please read this thread: 11.2rc and poor internet performance - openSUSE Forums
This problem has nothing to do with openSUSE. It is the result of a number of memory leaks in the core of Opera, and an incompatibility between Opera and qt 4.5.3.
Fixing it requires using the 10.01 qt3 version (that also patches the memory leaks) which can be downloaded from the official website, or using the latest qt4 snapshot which is located here.
Again, this isn’t a problem with openSUSE, it is a problem specific to Opera. It has been around since the v10 alphas, and I actually had to give up using Opera for a few months before a fix was made.
