Some good news for people:
I did a fresh install of opensuse12.3 on ibmT60-laptop, looks quite good. Running live-cd, I was not impressed, networkmanager did not connect to mobile-broadband, anyway I installed 12.3 on a free partition. Telling you, installation was quick, no troubles, 20 min and finished. First run was not so good, no network-connection possible!
I had this stuff in milestone3, there it was ok logout/login, then I had NM at work
This time I had to reboot, since that networkmanager works with 3G-connections and keeps on.
First look at KDE4.10, not a lot of differences, dolphin seems to be with new features and menus, gonna check this
I also did a zypper dup to opensuse-tumbleweed on my old ibmT23, also no problems registered there, except that this old machine just does not handle well KDE, it has a PIII-Celeron, 768MBRAM and a savageS3-graphic with 16MBRAM, so it still works good with e17-DE, what is anyway my favourite desktop, fast and beautiful
I will test OS12.3 a few days here on a separate partition, if it behaves well - still missing all multimedia-stuff to install - I will upgrade my 12.2-workplace with its proper /home to 12.3.
As far I like the “new” look, Grub2 also works well, I avoided to work with it in OS12.2, but now it looks trustable
I have to install here e17 and cinnamon, Gnome is out of the way, opera-browser, vlc, I have read that google-earth7 also runs on OS12.3, what did not work in OS12.2
Sorry, but I can not realy determione what your question is.
I read you are using Tumbleweed. There is a special Tumbleweed subforum where the Tumbleweedd fans gather. There you should get abetter answer to your question/problem.
When my idea that you have no question at all, but only want to share your experience, I point you to the Community & Fun > General Chitchat subforum.

Right, only wanted to share experience, I did not remember the Chitchat-subforum.
Saying “zypper dup from tumbleweed” I meant that I upgraded a system with tumbleweed-repo and opensuse-current-repos, so the actual upgrade points to current-repos, tumbleweed-repo is empty by now
