please help,

I think the live CD has a safe settings boot. Did you try the safe settings boot? Do you get the same problem?

If you get the same problem, then IMHO not much you can do other than raise a bug report. Submitting Bug Reports - openSUSE

… you could also try the 11.2 milestone4 live CD to see if it has the same problem as 11.0 and 11.1. openSUSE-11.2 - CALL FOR TESTERS - openSUSE Forums

You could also try the live CDs from other distributions. I find sidux (a debian based distribution) has an excellent liveCD with up to date packages.

same with safe mode but other live cds are fine

i was just looking at the milestone 4 thing but it says it wont start from usb if it has a cdrom drive and my main cdrom is usb and i have a internal one

fixed the same bug is in 11.1 11.0 i disconnected my internal drive and it works now

you could also try the 11.2 milestone4 live CD to see if it has the same problem as 11.0 and 11.1. openSUSE-11.2 - CALL FOR TESTERS - openSUSE Forums

yer im runnin 11.2 m4 now im about to update it to m5

Don’t !!

Skip m5 and wait for m6.

m6 is out on Monday. In fact, if you know where, you can download it today.

m5 has some horrible bugs that were fixed in m6.

ok i cancelled the update half way thru but will m6 b a different day in uk?

ERROR!!! DARN IT!!! IT JUST BOOTS INTO SH

right now i have to reinstall cos the update didnt complete and it now doesnt know what ext4 is

i havent even started firefox and my system is screwed that nust be a all-time record for me!

Thats never a good idea.

I had thought you were going to download the iso file, not update from factory.

I really wish they’d fix that problem. ALL updated packages should be downloaded first, then checksummed, and only then installed.

Ahh … thats called the live CD  … or the installation DVD. rotfl!

No really though, and seriously, if you wish that feature now then use the Smart Package manager for your software installations. That is what I use.

no i did a zypper dup instead and now i have to reconfigure ******* wifi and my router dont make that easy>:(
