openSUSE + windows XP dual boot - not internet connection on Windows.

Hello guys!
I’ve installed openSUSE over Windows, but now Windows doesn’t see any connections to internet (using wire btw.). Have anybody else encountered such problem?

So you need to tell us your openSUSE version and desktop used. Installing openSUSE over Windows means what? Is it dual boot now or only openSUSE now?

Thank You,

Right, sorry for that, I’m just tired.

I am dual booting, Windows was installed first (Linux is my main OS tough).
OpenSUSE KDE, version - 12.3

So its not normal for Linux to stop Windows from working on the network. in openSUSE, run this terminal command:

/sbin/lspci | egrep -i --color 'network|ethernet'

Post the result here so we can look up your wired network device.

Thank You,

03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller (rev 02)

So we normally are not trying to get networking to work in Windows. To be clear, networking is OK in openSUSE and does not work in Windows, correct? Did you try a complete power down of your PC and then restart and see if Windows networking might start again. A complete power down is important to try.

Thank You,

Very strange. DHCP renewal failure, perhaps? :-??
